Sealed bidding · optional add-on, +$25

A bid process your board can defend.

  • Locked until the deadline

Nobody sees a price or a document before the due date: not you, not other bidders, not BidPost staff.

  • All bids open at once

At the due date every bid unlocks together, so nobody gets a head start.

  • Tamper-evident receipts

Each bid gets a receipt code computed from its price, notes and files. When bids open, BidPost checks that nothing changed.

  • One answer for everyone

Questions & updates go to every bidder, so all bids price the same work. Due dates can only be extended, never cut short.

Side-by-side comparison

See why one bid costs more than another.

When bids open, AI reads every proposal and its documents and lines them up, so you compare what's included, not just the totals. It never picks a winner; you do.

Example: replace a 400 sq ft deck with composite decking. Sample bids for illustration.

✨ Why the prices differ

C costs $3,300 more than A, but includes the permit, new aluminum railing and a five-year labor warranty. A reuses the old railing and leaves the permit to you.

✨ Questions to ask before you award

  • Contractor A: what would the permit and new railing add?
  • Contractor B: which composite line, and what does its warranty cover?

Trust and verification

What our badges mean, and what they don't.

  • Your contact details stay private: phone and email are shown only to contractors with a Blue or Gold check.
  • Tax IDs: a business's EIN goes to the check once, and only its last four digits stay on its profile. Bidders are never asked for a W-9. A selected contractor can send one privately to the project owner; it shows their tax ID, stays stored until either of them removes it, and isn't sent to AI.
  • AI features: listing text, insurance certificates and proposal documents are processed by Anthropic to power them.
  • BidPost isn't a party to your contract and doesn't guarantee anyone's work.
  • Gray check: contact confirmed: Email and phone number confirmed. No business check. Gray: contact confirmed

Confirms: The contractor confirmed an email address and a phone number.

Doesn't guarantee: That the business exists, or anything about its licensing, insurance or work.

  • Blue check: business identity verified: Email and phone confirmed, plus the owner's ID (sole proprietors) or the business's state registration and EIN checked. Doesn't cover licensing or insurance. Blue: business identity verified

Confirms: Gray, plus an identity check: a government ID through Stripe for sole proprietors, or state registration records and an IRS EIN match for business entities. Our team decides when the automatic check is inconclusive.

Doesn't guarantee: Licensing, insurance, or the quality of the work.

  • Gold check: insurance certificate reviewed: Blue check, plus a current general liability insurance certificate we reviewed. Doesn't confirm the coverage fits your project. Gold: insurance certificate reviewed

Confirms: Blue, plus a review of a current general liability insurance certificate (read by AI, checked by our team when needed), and an active Gold membership.

Doesn't guarantee: That the coverage fits your project or stays in force after our review. It doesn't cover workers' compensation or other policies.

Not checked by any badge

Contractor licenses, workers' compensation, bonding, the quality of past work, or whether insurance limits fit your project. Ask for these before you hire.

Simple pricing

$10 is the standard price to post a project. Add-ons are optional, never picked for you, and itemized before you pay.

Two-bid guarantee

If your listing doesn't get bids from at least 2 qualifying contractors by its due date, we automatically refund what you paid for it, add-ons included, to your original payment method. It's based on the bids you receive, not on whether you hire anyone. Details
